My name is Messiyah Jones, and I’m a very goofy and chill person. For fun I like to cook, eat, write, shop, and spend time with my family and friends. I don’t go out much, but when I do I’m mostly with my family. For this class my expectations are to learn better ways to dissect and analyze books I read, better my writing skills, and expand my vocabulary. As far as AP in general goes, I expect to pass all my classes as well as pass my exams. Three goals I would like to achieve this year would be to graduate top three, get accepted to the college I want, and less sleeping in class. So far I have been on the right track, but I still have a way to go.
In Psalm 121 the theme is to imply that the Lord is your guardian and your protector, therefore you should look to him and only him for any need. As said in Verse 2, "My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth" also in Verse 5, " The LORD is thy keep: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand". In the bible, they state that no one should want for anything. As long as they give themselves unto the Lord, all of ones worry should be no more. "The LORD will preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul." It also stated that the Lord will always be around by your side, he will be the shadow that walks before you. Symbolism was also a factor of Psalm 121. In Verse 1 "I will lift my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help" , using "the hills" as a symbol for higher power.
