The differences between “Infant Joy” and “Infant Sorrow” is that the baby in Infant Joy is happy because he/she is living with no type of worry and just living life in the womb without knowing the dangers of the outside. He/she feels safe and protected in the inside and is green to know what is ahead, but still isn’t thinking about it. In Infant Sorrow, the baby is uncomfortable. He/she realizes that the outside is not so great. The two poems similarize because even though the baby finds that the world is a danger, yet he/she is still attached to his/mother and find comfort in her.

In Psalm 121 the theme is to imply that the Lord is your guardian and your protector, therefore you should look to him and only him for any need. As said in Verse 2,  "My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth" also in Verse 5, " The LORD is thy keep: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand".  In the bible, they state that no one should want for anything.  As long as they give themselves unto the Lord, all of ones worry should be no more. "The LORD will preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul."  It also stated that the Lord will always be around by your side, he will be the shadow that walks before you.   Symbolism was also a factor of Psalm 121. Today in class I thought more about women like Sophia. I understand why she thinks how she thinks and I actually support it. Only thing is, she has to be more humble. I believe all women should be as strong as her. I believe the world would a better place if women stood up more for themselves and have pride...but not too much. Women like Celie are kind-hearted but get taken advantage of and that's not good.
