Feb. 1,2019 Reflection

Today class was very intriguing. We wrote letters to God from the characters perspective and I found it so amazing how my classmates and I were able to put ourselves in the characters shoes and sound just like them when we write their letter. Also during school, I was able to talk more to Mrs. Mahoney and get a better understanding of things. Besides school my day was really good, some of my family members came by and ate dinner with us which was really nice.

My Weekend

This weekend was very laid back. I love for my weekends to be that way because me as a person is very laid back. I spent most of my weekend in the bed reading, doing homework, and watching movies. Nothing special, but it is quite relaxing. Also, my best friend spent the night with me, she gets on my nerves sometimes but I still love her to pieces. I don't know if I'm tired of school or I just don't like Mondays because I do not want to go to school tomorrow.

In Psalm 121 the theme is to imply that the Lord is your guardian and your protector, therefore you should look to him and only him for any need. As said in Verse 2,  "My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth" also in Verse 5, " The LORD is thy keep: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand".  In the bible, they state that no one should want for anything.  As long as they give themselves unto the Lord, all of ones worry should be no more. "The LORD will preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul."  It also stated that the Lord will always be around by your side, he will be the shadow that walks before you.   Symbolism was also a factor of Psalm 121. In Verse 1 "I will lift my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help" , using "the hills" as a symbol for higher power. Today in class I thought more about women like Sophia. I understand why she thinks how she thinks and I actually support it. Only thing is, she has to be more humble. I believe all women should be as strong as her. I believe the world would a better place if women stood up more for themselves and have pride...but not too much. Women like Celie are kind-hearted but get taken advantage of and that's not good.
